Evangelism has religious connotations, and no disrespect is meant by using the term "Food Evangelism." The evangelism explored on this episode of Middleish has to do with the overzealous advocacy of what many deem the right-- the only-- way of eating or being healthy.

Whether it is from a stream of self-proclaimed visionaries on social media or from your friend who seeks to convert you to their righteous new diet discovery, food and fitness evangelism is everywhere. Recognizing it for what it is can be challenging and social taboo even in casual conversation. At its worst, food and fitness evangelism can lead to feelings of failure, inner conflict and even shame for not being a proper follower.

In this episode, Erin and Michael highlight a few of their least favorite offenders in the health evangelism world. Fad diets proliferating food myths and marketing ploys rampant in the fitness industry are among the primary topics explored in this discussion. The goal with this episode is to help you navigate food evangelism guilt-free and realize that it is never wrong to choose what's right for YOU!
