OK, so Mike 1 had to make a power move & write the timestamps down into the bowels of this page. I hope your finger didn’t go numb from scrolling this low. But as you now know, we have covered both Screenplay categories in 1 episode. One is copied from books, well - usually books, and the other is supposedly conceived in the glory of the hollywood production process. In either case, Mike and I just watched the movies. We didn’t actually read anything.

Now the Writers Guild Awards were supposed to bring clarity to these categories. That’s why we waited until our final overview to cover the scribes. But of course, the Writers Guild went drunk with the power of the pen and completely threw these races into a tizzy. Per usual, Mike and I hone in upon a collective nervous breakdown the later we go in the episode. Though that’s the result of putting out shows every single goddamn day of Oscar Week, (which was a crazy idea of mine that I’m regretting immediately).

Still, what we overpay in therapy, you gain in free entertainment value. This brings our Oscar Category Overviews to a rousing conclusion, and you can find all the previous episodes in our back catalog including Best Original Song, Supporting Actor, Lead Actress, Lead Actor, Supporting Actress, Animated Feature, Director, Picture, and now, this highly caffeinated look at the year in screenplays.

We’re only 3 days into Oscar Week, and we’re already running on fumes. MMOW and our wonderful interview with THR’s Scott Feinberg kicked things off. Next up - we’ll have our Oscar Predictions episode where we’ll discuss the betting odds & make our picks. Then we’ll finally review Cold War to close out our series of 2018 Movie Reviews we call OSPs, and we’ll somehow record 3 more episodes this weekend. The MMO’s will be our own award show, where you have picked at least half of the categories, and where we’ll also select our noms and winners for all that you’ll see Sunday Night. Then on Sunday - day, we’ll release one final Oscar preview with another MMOW, and finally & insanely, we’ll limp to the finish line and record a recap of the big event late into Sunday night for your Monday morning commute. Picture the Blair Witch right now when I say, “I’m so scared right now.” If we’re this loopy on an f’ing Wednesday, what are we gonna be like come Oscar time?

As always, let us know what you think. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter, and we are on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. You can subscribe / rate / review / like / share / & listen to us on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Google Play, Tune In, Spotify, and just about wherever you enjoy podcasts. When reality sucks, keep watching movies with us. We’re Mike, Mike, & Oscar!
