The Best Race of all the Categories Perhaps.

***This is a Non-Spoiler Episode***
In the sense of a story teller, we may do some winks and nods and foreshadowing of the plot twists from these movies with what we talk about, but I don’t think we explicitly state any spoilers.

This is our Best Lead Actor Category Review, and usually, this rhetorical exercise requires we stretch our imaginations to argue for some of the contenders and nominees. But we do have quite the race at the center of this category between Bohemian Rhapsody’s Rami Malek and Christian Bale from Vice. Then we have one of our collective favorite performances of the year with Bradley Cooper from A Star Is Born also in the field here. So it’s a loaded review from the Mikes of Oscar on the Lead Actor nominees.

We’ve come to love and flourish in this format, which is pretty simple. There’s an intro followed by a list of who we think are the snubs of the nomination process. Then we breakdown each actor’s chances of why they will and will not win the Oscar. It’s a rhetorical exercise only for the mightiest or kookiest of awards season pundits, and we happily expand our minds for your audible pleasure.

This is the 5th Oscar Category review of 9 eventual episodes (we think / we hope) that we’ll release before the Academy Awards. You can go back and listen to our Best Original Song, Supporting Actor, Lead Actress, and Animated Feature shows to enjoy more of this format. We’ve also reviewed near 50 (now) films with our Oscar Sprint Profile and Movie Event film review series. MMO Weekly is our regularly scheduled variety show that allows us to cover every weekend’s awards show results, and there’s an Oscar Race segment in each of those episodes. Then we also have some MMO special presentations of retrospectives, interviews, and of course, other reviews and previews of the biggest moments of this Awards Season for you to enjoy in that massive back catalog of yours.

Still, we enjoy reviewing and appreciating movies year round. Our show has done full series on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Conjuring Films, Mission Impossibles, and the entire Halloween Franchise thus far. We’re planning long looks at Fast & Furious and the films of Pixar to name a few in the year to come, and we’ll certainly continue our focus on new releases in the MCU with the upcoming Captain Marvel, Avengers: End Game, and Spider-Man: Far From Home releases from Disney in the coming spring.

Then if you like how we cover horror films, we will be diving into another new classic for the All The Horror & their Women In Horror Month special event this February with a review of Mary Harron’s American Psycho starring Oscar favorite, Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman. So do stay tuned for that.
