And we’re back. That’s not usually my line, but I (Also Mike) am thrilled we could get back in the saddle, which also happens to be Mike 1’s phrase. So there, I'm quoting my partner early and often in these show notes, and I guess, absence does make the heart grow fonder. In any case, one of us obviously missed the other, and we’re very happy to get back together to preview the May & June theatrical releases.

Do stay tuned for our long awaited Avengers: Infinity War review episodes. We plan to get those out later in the week, followed by a countdown of all our favorites from Marvel Studios, where we’ll go 19 down to 1 and put a bow on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

So of course, we begin by covering all the movies Avengers: Infinity War has been demolishing at the box office. With each date, we profile all of the wide releases and the limited indie releases that have gotten the most buzz and critical acclaim. It was a fun episode to record, and we riff like crazy.

We begin talking about the female Christian Bale that is Charlize Theron and discuss the Oscar chances for Reitman, Cody, and Theron from Tully, which got pushed. The next week’s features Melissa McCarthy’s Life of the Party, and we cannot help but propose possible plot lines for The Seagull starring Saoirse Ronan, Annette Bening, and of course Brian Dennehy. We’re very afraid for Miss Ronan, but we’re thrilled Brian Dennehy is back in the saddle as well, more on him later.

The middle of May includes two more Disney related tent poles in Deadpool 2 and Solo: A Star Wars Story. We have gut reactions to both of these series of trailers and look forward to hitting the theaters to see them both. First Reformed has a chance to be Oscary for Ethan Hawke, Paul Schrader, and Cedric the Entertainer by all accounts.

Early June showcases some intriguing releases both wide and limited. There is serious Oscar buzz for Hereditary starring Toni Collette and Won’t You Be My Neighbor?. Of course, we can’t resist taking a trip back into our childhood channel surfing habits to discuss whether or not we were fans of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.

The middle of June features The Incredibles 2, which might be irresistible, Superfly from Director X, and Tag, where guess who, Brian Dennehy is back again! We’re irrationally hyped once more. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom worries us both, and we’re intrigued by a limited release from the It Follows director. Sicario: Day of the Soldado also launches some red flags, but Uncle Drew might save that week for the guilty pleasure lovers that we are. A few more docs pique our interest as well.

Please follow, subscribe, like, retweet, and share our stuff on social media. Thanks for all the help with spreading the word about our pod. We’re further along on our website, and we’re planning to record a bunch more pods over the coming month. So when reality does suck, do watch movies with us. We’re Mike, Mike, and Oscar, and we’re back!
