Part one of our 100% Accurate 2020 Oscar Predictions profiled each of the Pictures, and we add a few movies to that list early in this episode. Then as we follow our 100% accurate process of predicting the future, we make our Picks here in part two.

Perhaps we slept on Joaquin Phoenix as the next Joker. Taika Watiti has a new comedy-drama coming out about WWII with Sam Rockwell and Scarlett Johanssen. There’s a Roger Ailes biopic with a tremendous cast of actresses like Charlize Theron & Margot Robbie squaring off against John Lithgow as Ailes. Then we’re getting a Lucille Ball movie with Cate Blanchette and written by Aaron Sorkin at some point over the next two years. We profile those movies before we dive into a big 7 categories.

Last year, we predicted the 4 acting and director categories. So we added Picture and Animated Feature to that list this year. We give you our top 3 likely nominees and mention some of the other contenders to refresh you on what that field will look like. Then after we go over our picks from last year at this time before deciding upon our final picks this year.

This series kicks off our 2019 film year, and we’ll be diving into that headlong next week with two episodes on Captain Marvel & one OSP on the holdover, Fighting With My Family. Jordan Peele’s Us makes its theatrical run soon after, and as you now know, after we just profiled all the likely Oscar contenders, 2019 will keep the great films coming fast & furious.
