It’s 2019. It’s a new year and a fresh start. So we wanted to share our hopes & dreams with you all regarding the industry we love to love & hate to hate, the Hollywood Film Business. Here’s our Film Industry New Year’s Resolutions all in one handy dandy podcast! (Yes, I just referenced Blues Clues, and I’m not sorry.)

At times, however, we must be serious, and we do offer up some honest to goodness hopes for social justice movements in Hollywood and around the world. We’ve supported them throughout our history, and we’ve covered many of these stories on previous MMO Weeklies & Hollywood Hot Take episodes in our back catalog. Therefore, it’s more than appropriate that we drive these imperatives home at the top of the episode in our Shared Resolutions segment.

Then we dish out an entire kitchen’s worth of 10 hot takes as we each offer 5 film industry resolutions for your listening pleasure. We’re our usual goofy and talkative selves, and although some of these might be familiar, we also prepare some unique dishes here. (& yes, I must be hungry while writing this.)

The Mikes weigh in on some of their favorite movie franchises, the Oscar voting process, how to enhance the theater-going business, and we get big picture about film criticism, movie talk podcasting, politics, and screenwriting throughout these resolutions. If ever an episode characterized our mission statement as a podcast, this is that episode. So you don’t wanna miss it.
