The newest film in the James Wan / Ed & Lorrain Warren / WB Conjuring Universe is setting new opening weekend box office high for the franchise. During our re-watch pods, we’ve already highlighted some huge profits. So this is high praise considering the budgets of tens of millions have resulted in well over a billion dollars in total earnings.

As for the quality of the film and the horror movie goods, that’s where we can have the in-depth discussion. Audience scores have been mixed, and critical numbers have been down. So let us weigh in with a final word on when and how and why you should see movie. For this reason, we give you your money’s worth with a non-spoiler review.
