You don’t always get Oscar Winners in the month of June, but we may have gotten one here with Toy Story 4. The Best Animated Feature category is shaping up to be a two movie race between this and Frozen II, and we certainly break down a full Oscar Lens regarding this & several more likely nominations heading Pixar’s way. But it’s not just another OSP. We also bring this series to a resounding conclusion.

As for the two big centerpieces, we finish our look at the History of the Pixar Company, which tracked the origin story all the way to this production story. Then we also conclude our analysis of the 22 Rules of Storytelling According to Pixar and how this company then built itself into such a success.

Now, yes, just like other Oscar Sprint Profiles, we do have a non-spoiler followed by a spoiler filled section with a dance music warning in the middle. There are reviews of the production values, performances, script, and that Oscar Lens to build upon all of the behind the scenes / making of information we lay out in the opening cast & crew, specs, and history segments for non-spoilers. Then we discuss the plot in all its glory, starting out with the screenwriting analysis and following through with our best scenes segment, Heartbreaks & Happiness, where we discuss all the highlights before we give our final thoughts & grades.

Boy, have we been spoiled with great movies of late, and our Pixar Series timed out perfectly. While Hollywood gave us all a bunch of sequels we mostly didn’t want and especially didn’t want to review, we delved into an exercise of film appreciation at its finest with these 21 Pixar Films. Then if that wasn’t enough, we’re already 3 films deep into our Tarantino Series Re-Watch, with our 4th film review coming out later this weekend on Kill Bill Volume 1. So we hope you’ve been watching movies with us this spring & early summer. We’ve truly been blessed with a ton of great films to analyze, and we hope you’ve enjoyed them half as much as we have.
