In Episode 4 of Military Wife Life- The Podcast

I talk to Kasey who has had some twists and turns in her journey as not only a Navy spouse but also a Navy member. From falling pregnant unexpectedly while doing her Officer training, to being diagnosed with Post Natal depression and then Bi-polar, managing dual postings and everything in-between.

Kasey has overcome some huge setbacks but continues to rise to the challenges that Spouse life and Navy life present. She is a true inspiration with her willingness to shine a light on not only living with a mental health condition but thriving, thanks to a great support network and clear boundaries.

"I think that was the one thing, being diagnosed with a mental health condition and going through that period of diagnosis was I had tried to put on a facade that I was this perfect Mum and this amazing Officer and I could do all these things and my life was really amazing and nothing bad ever happened."

"I found that when I was actually vulnerable and I told people, hey this is what I am going through and I am not ok or I'm having a bad day that other people are struggling to. I think the ability to honestly communicate about them rather than pretend that we are all ok and have it together is something that is amazing."
