Dr Joe Kosterich, a WA GP reflects on the WA lockdown and says that the public should expect a better approach than the blunt tools of lockdowns and border closures. “In WA. the public has done what has been asked of it – unfortunately the same can’t be said for the state government, whose poor management has led to both recent snap lockdowns,” Dr Kosterich said. “NSW has shown that positive tests can be managed in a city like Sydney with the highest population density in Australia without full lockdowns – yet Perth is locked down after just a handful of cases – why?”
