        Dubbed "The hardest-working drummer in West Michigan", Mike Schertenlieb, is a personal long time friend of mine. Mike performs in multiple bands including Flexadecibel, Biffy the beat Slayer, and Short Hair Domestics. Mike is as dedicated to his instrument as any musician I have met and is always trying to improve his craft.     

   Since meeting a decade ago Mike and I have shared the stage multiple times, and I have seen him perform on several other occasions. Mike and I have a lot in common and his hard work and desire for music is engaging.       

     

     Mike and Flexadecibel have recently dropped a banger of a new album on 4/20/20. I got a chance to spin the record before we chatted and we go deep here on the process.      

   In this episode, we talk about being a Playing in multiple bands, His daily drum videos, practice routine, education, and "embracing the suck"       Unfortunately stricken by a pandemic we had to do this podcast under self-quarantine over zoom and it was HELL to edit.  But it is always great to chat with Mike and it was great to capture our conversation. 

  This is my first Zoom podcast and I will be dropping more interviews when we can open up more time.
