Stress can sometimes over take us without our awareness. I'm not talking about the little stresses of, but more so about those high level stresses, such as, trauma, financial struggle, heart break, loss of a loved one, life or death situations. 

It's a funny thing, when the brain switches to that fight or flight mechanism your mind will do anything to convince you that your safety is jeopardized and you must either fight your way out of your situation, or run far far away. This mechanism isn't your enemy, but rather your friend, an over protective friend. Sometimes we need to sit our friend down, and let them know, everything is going to be ok! They don't need to be afraid! We can do this!! 

So, instead of numbing, avoiding, distracting, picking fights, or running we encourage you to sit still...Listen...Feel...Become aware... You have options, and there are more solutions than you haven't considered. It's time to face your fear, your pain, your darkness, your loneliness, your addictions, and handle the stress at hand, rather than letting the stress handle you!
