This week, Sadie is bringing us to speed on the famed Italian director Lina Wertmüller. Wertmüller is known for many things, with careers as a puppeteer, actress, stage manager, and writer, but becoming most well known for her Italian Art House films were critically acclaimed, earning her the title of the first female director to be nominated for an Oscar and an Academy Award. She also is quite famous for her extensively long movie titles and to this day holds the Guinness Book World Record for the longest title of a film, which fits perfectly with her birth name which is quite a mouthful in itself. With a childhood of being expelled from numerous catholic schools and a career of satirical witty comedies, her life is anything but boring and cemented her as a legacy in the world of film.
