Bonnie and Doug visit with Track Announcer Corey Litton of Checkers and Wreckers about this weekend's races, including locally, World of Outlaws and NASCAR.  Corey joins us every Friday at 6:40am during the racing season. CHECKERS AND WRECKERS FOR FRIDAY, JULY 30TH

WHAT HAPPENED

FRIDAY-RED RIVER VALLEY SPEEDWAY FIRST RESPONDER NIGHT

Dexter Dvergsten bookended the night by winning the Lightning Sprint make-up and regular feature races.  Then Rich Pavlicek charged up halfway through the field to win in the Sportmods.  “Hollywood” Tye Wilke started 10th and took the Legends victory.  Tyler Mcdougall won the Stock Car feature with no breaks and a left rear tire going flat.  Marcus Rothenbacher scored Limited Sprint win number 2 on the season.  And Jesse Skalicky ended a 3 ½ year RRVS drought by winning the Modified main event.

SUNDAY-BUFFALO RIVER SPEEDWAY MID SUMMER HOBBY STOCK SHOOTOUT

So, with makeup features, special features, and the regular features, a total of 10 main event winners, and one champion were crowned Sunday night.  Starting the night off was Kelly Jacobson winning the Sportmod makeup.  Then it was Jesse Skalicky winning the Modified makeup and his second win of the weekend.  In the main program, Gavin Edinger won in the Slingshots. Scott Jacobson spoiled his son Kelly’s chances at doubling up in the Sportmods.  “Hollywood” Tye Wilke won in the Legends.  Hunter Goulet won in the Short Trackers.  Zach Reinke won in the Midwest Mods.  Chris Crowder came all the way up from Colorado to win the Lightning Sprint main.  “Magic Mike” Johnson won the Modified feature.  Then after winning the Hobby Stock Mid-Summer Shootout A Main, Dylan Nelson claimed the championship as well.

MONDAY-RED RIVER KART CLUB

Brady Heilman won for the second week in a row in the Novice 2 division.  Owen Zick won for the first time in the Rookie 1s.  Noah Brejcha won for the first time this year in the Rookie 2’s.  Then Zayden Braaten won for the second time in the 206 Blue Slide class.  Kyle VanMil won in the 206 Black Slide class.  Then Tate Magnuson picked up the Adult Stock win.

THURSDAY-NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY SANDERS STOCKCAR CHALLENGE NIGHT ONE

Paul Colvin picked up his first Sportmod win of the year.  He was so happy to finally get that “W”He was fist pumping as he crossed the line.  While doing that, Colvin slapped the front stretch wall.  He’s in the running for celebration of the year.  Brodee Eckert was next up with his Hobby Stock win.  Austin Arneson was gone from the start picking up the Modified win.  Then “The Ham Lake Hammer” Don Shaw won the Late Model feature.  And in just his second IMCA Stock Car start, Randy Klein won the $800 Sanders Stockcar Shootout main event.
