“It’s like MTV but with an edge.” We watched Reality Bites (1994) directed by Ben Stiller and we’re gonna go grab a couple of Big Gulps.  We’re back with the winner of our Janeane Garofalo mini challenge and we’re jumping in the way-back machine to take a trip to the 90’s!  Generation X, irony-loving, thrift store-shopping, 70’s sitcom-quoting slackers abound in this comic coming of age story. Recent college grad Lelaina (Winona Ryder) and her pals are trying to navigate life, love and work in the real world.  Constant pop culture references and wall to wall nostalgia really paved the way for sitcom writing for years to come. Snappy dialogue, great clothes, cute boys and not to mention a killer soundtrack keep us coming back to re-live the 90’s.
