Let's talk about the"F"word... Focus!

Women in business can easily get caught up believing that all we need is more time in order to grow their business. And that’s simply not true!I’m here to tell you that you can grow your business between nap times and bells. All you need to do is focus.

So this week, I’m sharing the top three reasons why business owners become unfocused and how you can increase your focus without having more time.Let’s get into it!
KEY TAKEAWAYS:>>[0:32] Mums With Hustle is an online learning community supporting mothers in starting, growing, and scaling businesses that make them feel good, makes them money, and helps them make an impact in the world.>>[1:13] I wanted to jump onto the podcast and talk to you about the “F” word... Focus! A lot of women in business are juggling a lot and the mental load that they are carrying is huge.>>[2:15] A lot of the time can get caught up believing that all we need is more time. And that’s simply not true! You can grow your business between nap times and between bells. You do not need to live in a constant state of overwhelm.>>[3:04] What I’m sharing in this episode is the top three reasons why business owners become unfocused. And when we’re unfocused, we’re overwhelmed, we’re not making the best decisions, and we’re not able to access the higher functioning parts of our brain that actually develop our businesses.>>[4:46] The first step to creating a new habit is to be able to identify the behavior you want to change.THE 3 BIGGEST REASONS YOU'RE LACKING FOCUS>>[5:36] Reason number three you may lack focus is because of fancy procrastination. This is basically when you go into a state where you make sure everything around you is pristine. If you’re working from home, this can include the household (e.g. when I’ve caught up on the laundry, when I’ve made dinner, etc.).>>[7:08] Number two is comparing yourself to others! This is a big one because it makes you question your own worth. When you do this, you fall into the trap of comparison syndrome and that derails you from your focus. Have you ever found yourself looking sideways at what someone is doing in their business? That takes you away from your business!>>[8:29] The main reason business owners lack focus is because they don’t know what to focus on. They’re just winging it while trying to piece together all of the free knowledge out there.CLASSIC SIGNS OF LACKING FOCUS>>[10:09] There are some classic signs of being unfocused (e.g. being overwhelmed, questioning every decision, wondering what you should be doing next).>>[10:28] Feel free to journal if you’d like by writing this question at the top of the page: “How will you know if you are focused? What will it look and feel like for you?”>>[11:04] You’ll know that you’re focused when you’re getting the right stuff done in your business. Another way that you’ll know that you’re focused when you’re feeling a greater sense of clarity, motivation, productivity, and great results. You’ll also know that you’re focussed when you have less doubts.>>[12:27] Another question to ask yourself is, “What do you need to be able to create more focus?” Hopefully, you don’t believe you need more time because we can have oodles and oodles of time and not use it wisely. You should meditate on this question.THE WRAP UP>>[13:34] I want you to bring more focus into your business because it will bring you growth. One thing I know I need is accountability in order to stay focused.>>[14:35] Give yourself permission to claim what you really need in order to keep your focus and stay productive. Lacking focus is costing you potential money and impact!>>[15:20] Thank you for your time here today. I’d love to hear from you. Hop on your Instagram Stories and tag me (@mumswithhustle).
