Deciding which type of intervention to use with a patient can be difficult, especially when a patient's pain levels are high and motivation for movement is low. Clinicians often fall victim to utilizing passive modalities first instead of initially prescribing low intensity, modified movements. In today's episode, we discuss the difficulty of navigating these types scenarios, when clinicians should be using passive modalities, and the narratives we should be promoting when doing so.
