The CDC has issued a new order extending their federal eviction moratorium until Oct. 3rd. In a statement from the CDC, Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky determined that any evictions “could be detrimental to public health control measures to slow the spread of COVID”. In addition, the federal government allocated $46 billion in rental relief yet only $3 billion has been disbursed. Due to the fact that many landlords are left struggling, many real estate entities have filed lawsuits to block the enforcement of the CDC’s moratorium. Do you think it’s fair for the CDC to enforce this ban on evictions?
