Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg died on Friday at the age of 87. Her passing ignites a firestorm of controversy between the Republican majority in the U.S. Senate and the Democrat party over whether or not a nominee to replace Ginsberg should be confirmed before the election. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says the voters who reaffirmed his leadership in the 2018 midterms did so with just this moment in mind and he will go ahead with the confirmation hearings.
