The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus posted a satirical music video promising to “convert” your children into being tolerant of the LGBTQ community and their rights. The viral video contained lyrics such as, “you think that we’ll corrupt your kids if our agenda goes unchecked. It’s funny. Just this once, you’re correct…We’ll convert your children. We’ll make them tolerant and fair.” The group received a ton of backlash from conservatives some claiming they were “undermining traditional values of families”. What if a straight white men’s chorus group put out a video like this? Would they have been as harshly criticized? Are we living in a double standard world?
