Episode 12: Gone In 60 Seconds/Drive Angry - a podcast by Scott Kraushaar/Matt LaPlante

It’s our second Cagetastic installment of the SUMMER OF CAGE and boy is it a testosterone filled one. For our 12th episode we explore some of Mr. Cage’s fuel injected flicks with a “Fast & The Furious” themed double feature. Up first is the summer block buster heist movie that inspired aspects of the Grand Theft Auto video game series and had us all exclaiming “Ok, let’s ride” before we went cruising. Nic plays professional car thief, Memphis Rains in Dominic Sena’s Gone In 60 Seconds (2000). On deck in our second feature Nicolas Cage plays John Milton, a criminal hellbent on getting revenge for crimes committed against his family by a Satanic Cult who’ve taken his granddaughter hostage. With the help of a foul mouthed, ass kicking sexpot and her bad ass muscle car they fuck shit up in Patrick Lussier’s action flick Drive Angry (2011). Along the way we also discuss the glaring flaws with Anchor’s app, Joel Schumacher’s death, movie roles Mr. Cage has turned down over the years, stereotypes & cultural appropriation in films and the sexual magnetism of the dead.
