What does it mean to exist in "Level White?"  What does it mean to be "Situationally Aware" and what are some examples of being alert and prepared?  Each and every time you step foot outside the comforts of your home, you should be alert and aware of your surroundings at all times.  From the moment you enter into your vehicle to the moment you park, how long do you sit in your vehicle and look around, assessing the environment?  How many vehicles are around you?  What color are they?  Is anyone inside of those vehicles?  Or are you too distracted by answering that last text message that came across while you were driving, looking down at your phone and completely oblivious to your surroundings?

Being situationally aware is critical to keeping safe and being prepared.  There is no such thing as a "safe" place anymore.  From your front yard to your vehicle to the parking garage, bad things happen to good people.  Are you caught off-guard when something does not "look" or "feel" right?  Or have you mentally prepared for a situation just like this, and know how to either remove yourself from that situation and go a different route, or prepare to defend yourself if an attack or encounter is inevitable.

Always keeping your head on a swivel and being a "hard" target will deter an attack from someone with bad intentions.  Do your part to take care of yourself and be in the proper mindset every time you have to travel.
