Safety is THE most essential element in everything we do.  As kids, the last thing our parents said to us as we left was:  Be Careful!

As adults, the last thing we say to our kids and loved ones as they leave is:  Be Careful!

Safety is even more vital when firearms are involved.  When we make the decision to handle firearms, or are in the presence of others who are handling firearms, it is OUR responsibility to be trained and then to pass along this knowledge and safety to others we surround ourselves with.  

There are several organizations and groups who teach firearm safety, and has their list of rules.  Regardless of which set you follow, all rules are very similar in scope when handling firearms safely.
