Firearm safety begins with you.  The safest way to transport your firearm is in a case, unloaded, and with the ammunition stored separately.  Any time you transport your firearm to the shooting range or when going on a hunt, safety must always be a top priority.  Make sure the firearm is unloaded with the action open before you put it in a hard or soft gun case.  This not only guarantees you have a safe gun, but is a visual sign to others that your firearm is safe when you uncase it.

There are several different ways to safely carry your firearm when in the field, whether alone or with others.  We'll also discuss how to safely cross obstacles with a firearm, climb into elevated stands or blinds, and safe directions to shoot when in the field.  

When the day at the range or your hunt is over, proper maintenance and care of your firearm is critical to ensure it will operate the way it was designed to operate.  Using proper cleaning tools will preserve your firearm for generations to follow.
