"What color is the car you just parked next to?"
"How many people are standing in line behind you?"
"What mile marker did you just pass on the freeway?"

Situational Awareness is being aware of your surroundings at all times.  Not to the point of paranoia believing there is a boogie man hiding behind every bush, but taking charge of your space and your environment.  How many times were you so focused on replying to a text message as you were walking across the parking lot that you tripped on the curb?  How many times were you changing songs on your playlist and you bumped into someone or something along the way?  Has anyone ever materialized in your "space" and you have no idea where they came from?

Cindy Scott joins me again this week, as we discuss levels of awareness and how to protect ourselves and our families if that moment ever came, where we had to.

Protecting yourself does not always mean relying upon a firearm to do so.  There are several other ways to do so, including pepper spray, a bright flashlight, and your own booming voice in the face of someone who should not be in your space.

I hope you take away some ideas how to be prepared for any situation, when you step out of the comforts of your home or your vehicle.  If something does not look right, it's not.  If something does not feel right, it's not.  Rely upon that 6th sense, intuition, or those hairs raised up on the back of your neck -  take a look around, have a plan, and be in control of your space!
