In this episode, think outside of the box!  Hear different ideas to continue your shooting passion beyond hunting season or competition season.  If your favorite firearm to use during hunting season is a rifle, consider picking up a shotgun during the off-season.  Talk with  shotgun shooters, take some lessons, and go to the range to learn how to be a better shooter.

Then go one step further.  Consider picking up one of the primitive firearms such as muzzleloading or archery.  There are plenty of archery shops with qualified staff who can get you started.  Most of these shops are indoors and have a range within.  This is the perfect set up to get out of the summer heat while learning a new shooting skill!

For those who love hunting and fishing and archery can pick up one more activity:  Bowfishing!  This is an activity that is a lot of fun and definitely a bit challenging!  And the best part - it can be a year round activity, making sure you follow your local rules and regulations.

To be a responsible hunter it is up to you to continue practicing and becoming more proficient with your equipment.  Why not pick up additional skills to add to your variety and add to the number of days you will be able to spend in the field next season?

Enjoy!
