In this world, the “wine”* runs out. We all know it. We all have experienced it. Wine in biblical times was, among other things, a symbol of God’s abundant provision, a blessing associated with remaining faithful within God’s covenant. Wine stood for joy and was connected with secure and fruitful times. For God’s people, before the coming of Christ, the “wine” had run out. But then Jesus showed up, announcing the nearness of the kingdom of heaven. In Christ there is everyday abundance every day. As John states in John 1:14, “We have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” This Jesus is intended for you and for your everyday places and relationships and activities, for Jesus takes water and turns it into wine. Listen as Dr. Bob Jordan leads us through John 2:1-12.
