A. EXHORTATION: ARM YOURSELVES FOR SUFFERING (1 Pet. 4:1).

2. Arm yourselves with spiritual weapons.

B. THE REASONS FOR ARMING OURSELVES (1 Pet. 4:1b-3).

1. Imitating Christ (1 Pet. 4:1a).

2. Suffering for Christ is a sign of the NEW BIRTH (1 Pet. 4:1b-3).

a. “suffered in the flesh” (1 Pet. 4:1b) -
