Free slaves!

Intro

A. ABUSE OF FREEDOM (1 Peter 2:16).

1. We are free in Christ.

a. Free from the bondage of sin. Rom. 6:7, 14

b. Free from the condemnation of the law. Rom. 8:1-2

c. Free from the ceremonial law but not the moral law. Heb. 7:12; Mt. 5:17

2. Don’t use freedom as a covering for evil.

a. Don’t have to submit to governing authorities (1 Peter 2:13-15).

b. Antinomianism. Rom. 6:15; 1 Cor. 6:12

c. Secondary issues: meat sacrificed to idols. 1 Cor. 8:1-13; 10:23-29

3. We are slaves of God. 1 Cor. 7:22; Rom. 6:18, 22

B. HONOR, LOVE, FEAR, HONOR (1 Peter 2:17).

1. Honor all men -

2. Love the brotherhood -

3. Fear God -

4. Honor the king -
