A. THE NATURE OF SUFFERING (1 Peter 3:13-14).

1. General protection for those who are zealous for doing good (1 Peter 3:13).

2. Suffering for righteousness (1 Peter 3:14).

a. Bodily persecution.

b. Other fears.

B. THE CURE FOR A FEARFUL HEART (1 Peter 3:14-17).

1. Suffering brings blessings (1 Peter 3:14).

2. Do not fear man or be troubled by him (1 Peter 3:14b). Isa. 8:12-13.

3. Sanctify Christ as Lord (1 Peter 3:15).

4. Defend your hope (1 Peter 3:15).
