Intro

A. THE DUTY OF SUBMISSION (1 Peter 3:1).

1. Wives submit to your own husbands. Parallels in Eph. 5:22-33; Col. 3:18-19.

2 Submission is not based on ancient culture.

3. Submission does not mean inferiority.

B. WIVES’ MINISTRY TO UNBELIEVING HUSBANDS (1 Peter 3:1-2).

1. Some husbands are unbelievers (1 Peter 3:1).

2. Win them without a word (1 Peter 3:1-2).

C. THE PRIORITY OF THE INNER PERSON (1 Peter 3:3-4).

1. The outward adornment (1 Peter 3:3).

2. Inner spiritual character (1 Peter 3:4).

a. a gentle and quiet spirit -

b. Imperishable quality -

c. precious in the sight of God -

D. THE EXAMPLE OF GODLY WOMEN OF OLD (1 Peter 3:5-6).

1. Holy women who hoped in God (1 Peter 3:5).

2. Children of Sarah (1 Peter 3:6).
