Airing on MPBTV this Friday, February 17th at 7:30 p.m., the film “The Defenders: How Lawyers Protected the Movement,” showcases the bravery and determination of the state’s African-American lawyers during the Civil Rights movement and their front-line work to represent individuals who either were unjustly charged or imprisoned. Today, I have the honor of sitting down with the film’s Director & Writer, Roderick Red, Producer Liz Evans, and Producer & Writer, Sarah C. Campbell to discuss what inspired them to participate in the project and it’s importance and impact on today’s society.
