My first guest for the new year, Southern Poverty Law Center Mississippi Director, Waikinya Clanton, has elevated the definition of leadership in the last year, with her activist work in response to the Capital City’s water crisis. A proud graduate of Tougaloo College and native of Canton, she was recently named one of the most influential African Americans in the nation, on The Root 100 list, where she is among other winners including Rihanna and Former First Lady, Michelle Obama. Waikinya Clanton joins me today to discuss the aforementioned, as well as her life and future plans.
