This episode has been burning a hole in Adrianne’s pocket, so to speak. Recorded back over the summer of 2021 while Adrianne was unemployed and unlicensed in Minnesota, she was able to get Amie and Sara of the Gritty Nurse podcast on the line (they’ve had a busy busy summer) to answer all her questions.

Their focus is on Amie and Sara’s activism in their home country of Canada, pushing for safety and respect for nurses. They have created spaces for nurses in forums that had no nurses at the table and they’re going to talk about how they did it.

These nurses also cover topics like:
Connecting with your community - just do it even if you think it will be small scale.
What makes you an authority? A professional? A leader?
How being openly political is not being unprofessional.
That uncomfortable conversations are not always inappropriate conversations
There is a time and place to upset the apple cart in the name of progress and change
Tips for talking to the media, placing yourself in places you belong but aren’t invited
Actionable tips for making your voice louder and your moves matter.
