The United States is in the middle of an epidemic, Every day, 46 people die from an overdose of prescription painkillers in the US. During the past several years, the professionals on our panel have been researching and reaching for answers to this problem and solutions to the crisis. They will discuss what they have learned, what they have implemented, and what they envision for the future. Dr. Mark Rosenberg and Dr. Alexis LaPietra from St. Joseph's Medical Center in Patterson, NJ the creators of Alternatives to Opioids (ALTO) Treatment will share their program. Dr. Patrick Kemper and Alicia House, from Northstar Behavioral Health, in St. Paul, MN, will share the work they are doing on Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT). Dr. John Nelson of Healthcare Environment in St. Paul, MN and Dr. Michael Graham, Associate Professor of Nursing, St. Catherine University, Twin Cities, MN will share their work.
