When I saw the website Women of Integrity, INC. I was stopped in my tracks. My thought was what specifically are we talking about when we say this? How are women of integrity different from men? Speaking with Shantay Carter, made me want her as a guest on the show. This is a dialogue worth having! In addition to being a busy BSN, RN at Northwell Health Systems, she noticed a huge need in her community. While MANY people, educators, researchers and social workers, acknowledge the great need of young women of color to have positive models and mentors, FEW people take that step into action for them on the ground. Shantay Carter is an exception to this truth. In 2010, she established Women of Integrity, Inc to stand beside high school youth in Long Island, New York. It's Mission statement says: To empower and educate women of all ages and ethnicities. As an OB Nurse, this has long been a desire of mine. Join us to navigate these topics!
