Nursing License Reciprocity - a podcast by Leanne Meier, BSN, RN

Nurses are licensed in the State in which they live and practice. They can apply for licensure in other states, but it can be a cumbersome and sometimes frustrating process. Boards of Nursing across the country are in business to protect the public. Their interaction with nurses is entirely to that end. What I discovered is that they may not be as friendly or helpful to nurses as one might expect. The State of MN is currently working on a law called, the Nurse Licensure Compact, which would allow a nurse to obtain one multistate licensure to practice in any compact state. Jackie Russell is a nurse and lawyer for the MN Nurses' Association (MNA). She will be discussing what the Nurse Licensure Compact is and why MNA opposes it. Join us on Monday to listen and/ or call in!
