Nurses in 2020 are in trouble. It appears in the form of bullying, burnout, and leaving the profession. There is a saying that “Life is what happens while you are making other plans.” Since this is true for all of us, we need to learn how to be resilient through whatever comes our way. Some say you “have” it or you don’t. I believe we can learn new habits and tools to make us more resilient. My guests, Lyn McCright and Teresa Walding have created Advancing Holistic Health to prove that point. They developed a program called the Resilience Paradigm, the principles of human psychological functioning, and we will discuss the principles of health behind it. Through this groundbreaking advancement in the field of health care—a foundational model for living fully in the present—we can now teach, through logic, that which can only be realized through insight. Using it, you will see the innate resiliency of your clients, colleagues, and, most important, you will see it within yourself.
