It is hard to be alive in the USA today & not know someone in the grasp of Domestic Abuse, Mental Health Crises, and/or suicide attempts. Nursing Suicide has risen to terrifying levels. What do Nurses need to know to recognize the signs/symptoms to address these issues at their earliest point? My guests bring an interesting, complementary story & information regarding these issues. Sherry Genga is the author of The Shattered Oak, a true story of her mother's nightmare of abuse, suicide attempts and misdiagnosis of Mental Illness, along with her own growth & learning from the experience. Dr. Alisha Cornell is a woman, who has also experienced some of these issues & persevered to become a DNP in Executive Leadership. She provides insight from the exec. leadership perspective on listening with intent to the concerns of the nurse. Dr. Cornell is an advocate for self-care among nurses & improving community health education concerning mental health and social determinants. Join us!
