Episode 21 of One Week Only! This week, our key film is "Phantom Boy" from Alain Gagnol & Jean-Loup Felicioli, the directors of the Academy-Award nominated "A Cat in Paris." This is another lovely hand-drawn animated noir about a young boy with a mysterious power who teams up with a bedridden Detective & a spunky journalist to take down a madman holding New York for ransom. It comes to NYC this weekend, and expands to LA next week. Another winner from GKIDS Films.

Last week, we reviewed the excellent Civil War dramedy "Men Go To Battle." The film is now playing in Los Angeles, and we have an interview with director Zachary Trietz about making a period film on a budget, the importance of "authenticity," and how an actor's previous job as a car salesman helped his performance.

Other films we cover this week include the sci-fi romance "Equals" starring Kristen Stewart & Nicholas Hoult; Lucha Libre wrestling documentary "Lucha Mexico" from Kino Lorber; fascinating documentary "Under The Sun" about life inside North Korea; and "Yarn," a look at the history, culture & feminism of knitting & crochet.

Carlos's interview with "Phantom Boy" Co-Director Alain Gagnol, for Filmmaker Magazine: http://filmmakermagazine.com/99081-ghost-of-a-ghost-alain-gagnol-on-his-animated-noir-feature-phantom-boy-and-co-directors-jean-loup-feliciolis-designs/
