Satisfying his constant need for attention, Mike Creed takes to the airwaves to have frank conversations with his friends, who just so happen to be figures in the world of pro cycling. Now that he’s a retired mediocre bike racer, he’s using his access to these athletes to humanize them, show you what he sees, and bring back a personal aspect to cycling. This is not the show for you if you’re looking for controversy and the hard questions. It’s more of a rambling conversation with and about the people and the sport that he loves.
THIS EPISODE Mike chews the fat with one of the nicer guys in the peloton (after Creed, Jesus, and Santa Claus). Tom currently rides for Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies, and was recently crowned the US National Time Trial Champion after a difficult period of near-miss results following his contentious positive for DHEA in 2009 – the year of his silver-medal winning finish at the US Pro National Time Trial Championships and his 4th place finish in the UCI World Time Trial Championships. Mike chats with Tom about his early start in distance running, being a chemist (an unusual job interview), sleeping in football fields, life after a doping suspension and the loss of a berth on a WT team, and his nickname as "Windpants Guy." We think you'll enjoy this in-depth interview with the gentle giant of the peloton sometimes dubbed "the Wattage Cottage."
