Altered states can be used for everything from relaxation to communication with the divine, expand our horizons, and enrich our lives. We can learn to cue ourselves to shift from one state of consciousness to another in a safe and disciplined way. Such training gives the sensitive person
control, and the inexperienced or blocked individual the sense of security needed to let go.

Diana L. Paxson has been teaching and writing about spiritual skills since the 1980's. She is a consecrated priestess of the Fellowship of the Spiral Path and a leader in the pagan community. Based in the San Francisco Bay area, she has conducted workshops all over the U.S. and in Europe.

Diane's most recent book is TRANCE-PORTATION, published by Weiser Books, which teaches how to develop your own cues for shifting from one state of consciousness to another in a safe and disciplined way. She has also written TAKING UP THE RUNES, and is well known as the author of many novels with spiritual and legendary themes, including RAVENS OF AVALON, which continues the series started by her sister-in-law, Marion Zimmer Bradley.
