Tonight listen in as I chat about how to get started making your own Book of Shadows (BOS)and during the psychic Toolbox Section I will be sharing with you all on how to Draw Down the Moon in a very easy ceremony.

1. Decide how you are going to keep your Book of Shadows. You can keep it on your computer, in a spiral notebook, in a binder, or splurge on a leather journal. Many people use binders because of the ability to shuffle pages around and create sections, and some prefer to keep it as a diary.

2. Lay down a statement of your beliefs. What do you believe in? Who are your patron gods/goddesses, if any? Do you follow the Wiccan Rede or the Threefold Law? Do you believe in spell casting, or only in ritualistic worship? These questions and more can help you get a better sense of your beliefs and put them on paper. (This is for your benefit only, and is by no means a requirement.)

3. Write down any rituals or spells you have created, step by step. Date all your entries for future reference.

4. Write down any rituals or spells you perform as well as influences such as moon phases etc, and what the results are. You can look back on these later and see how you are progressing, or what you may be able to do differently.

5. Include chants, poetry, stories, artwork, etc, whether created by yourself or others. As long as it inspires you, or honors the God/Goddess, it is fair game.

6. All BOS need to have correspondence pages. At least the basics such as the moon phases and their meanings, basic color charts.

7. It may be a good idea to keep a table of contents so that you can find things easily in your BOS. It makes finding the correct Ritual, Spell, charm, Etc. much faster and can help make the ritual, spell, charm, etc. run more smoothly.

Psychic Toolbox Section -
Ritual of Drawing Down The Moon

Stand facing the Full Moon. You can do see Her in your imagination, if necessary, but much better to see Her in person, and best to do so outside.
Greet Her. Offer Her flowers or some gift from the heart. Tell Her what you would like help with, what energy you would like to call in.
Take the Chalice position -- feet firmly planted, standing tall, arms forming a "bowl" overhead.
Clap your hands once above your head, to clear the space and focus your concentration. Open your arms again, to the Chalice position.
Then feel or visualise the Moon's Light streaming into your Chalice bowl until it is brimming with brilliant pure-white Light.
Slowly lower your arms, drawing down and allowing the Light to pour into your body and energy field, flowing through your entire being - body, mind, and spirit. Experience this with every sense that you can employ, especially visuals and sensory feelings.
Do this 3 times, or as often as you like, including the clap in between.
After, you may kiss your hands in Her honour, if you like. Or Namaste to the Moon. Or in some way demonstrate thanks and honouring.
Calling Down the Moon is a beautiful practice, however you choose to do it. Filling yourself with Divine Light and Divine Energy can only be a good thing, and you can never overdo it.
Try this at the next Full Moon.
