It tells us about our sin.
It tells us about our substitute.
It tells us about our salvation.
It tells something about ourselves.
1. It tells us about our sin (vv. 12-13)
The high cost of sin:
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Sin costs life, takes life, and ends life
God sent plagues:
Judgment on Egyptian gods – vs. 12
Judgment on Pharaoh (‘who is the LORD that I should obey Him?”) – 5:2
Judgment on Israelites –
Obstinacy – rejected Moses – God’s messenger
Idolatry – some worshipped Egyptian gods – Joshua 24:14
Rejected God & His word –
God provided protection:
The blood of a lamb
Rom 3:23 NASB for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
