Christmas –the greatest birth day of all
Luke 2:8-14

Christmas is a Time for Celebration
Christmas is a Time for Salvation
Christmas is a Time for Reconciliation

A Time for Celebration
What are you celebrating this Christmas?
Made it through the year
Being home with family
Got a bonus at work
Finished all your shopping
Got the gift you were looking for
Not celebrating anything, just trying to survive
Luke 2: 10
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people
Christmas is worth celebrating:
Personal - I bring you
Positive – Good news of great joy
Universal – for all people

Good News of Christmas is for you
It does not matter
Who you are
What you have done
Where you have been
Where you are headed

God loves you
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Galatians 2:20b
…The Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me
God is with you
Matthew 1:22-23
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:  “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”(which means “God with us”)

God is for you
John 3:17
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him

Christmas is a Time for Salvation – Luke 2:11

What do you need to be saved from?
Worry
Debt
People who hurt you
Anger
The Past –can’t seem to let go
Bad habits
Unforgiveness
Injustice

There has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord
Galatians 4:4-5
But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship

Salvation Means Freedom from
Sin and its consequences
Guilt over the past
Bitterness and resentment
Addictive habits
Fear of the future
Fear of death
Salvation comes through Faith By Grace

Christmas is a Time for Reconciliation – Luke 2:14
Where will you like to see peace this Christmas?
Peace with my parents, my kids
Peace with other believers
Peace in my mind and heart
Peace with my neighbours
Peace in my marriage
Peace everywhere

A Time for Reconciliation
Luke 2:14
“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”

Romans 5:1
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

Romans 5:11
..We also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation

Phillipians4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus

Jesus offers
Peace with God
Peace of God
Peace with others
