Hello and welcome to the latest episode of our podcast P for Parenting. In this episode, Anubha & Anjali are with a guest. They are talking about the importance of Yoga for children and Mothers, specifically pregnant women. Anubha and Anjali are joined with Meena Thanu.

Meena is a yoga instructor for the last twenty years. She started by telling how she ends being a yoga instructor. Meena's daughter was born with one of her tear ducts closed due to which she went through surgeries. Meena was looking for an alternative to surgery so she started learning yoga along with her daughter. When Meena's daughter started showing improvement, Meena decided that she will teach yoga to other children also so that no other children can fell ill.

Meena told Anubha and Anjali that yoga is natural for babies. Their body is flexible and they are unknowingly doing a lot of movements which are yoga posture. This is the reason why it is easier to teach yoga to children and also why they should join.

They also talked about that while other forms of exercise are very boring, one can enjoy yoga. "Yoga is not only teaching but also fun during exercising", Meena said.

Meena also told that yoga during pregnancy is also recommended. Meena added, "We don't force pregnant women to do yoga rather we modify Aasans as per their need. Sometimes we let them sit on a chair and let them do only breathing exercises".
