#18 Erynne Gilpin on Indigenous Medicinal Harvesting Protocol, Doula Birthwork, and Rock Climbing - a podcast by Todd Howard

I recently sat down with Dr. Erynne Gilpin for a fascinating and winding conversation about the shaping of her life’s work, which is hard to sum up with one or a few words. Erynne, who is of mixed Cree-Métis and Filipina/Celtic ancestry, is a community wellness researcher, activist, artist, birth doula, educator, filmmaker, founder of Indigenous Womxn Climb, and post-doctoral researcher. Her current work focuses on Indigenous wellness pedagogy, climate action, land-based leadership, embodied governance, insurgent healing, and land/water-based wellness.

We cover a lot of ground in this episode, from her passion of rock climbing and traditional beadwork to doula birthwork and her desire to use filmmaking to bring about indigenous transformation.
