Party Favorz is back with some cool summer funky house music for mingling around the pool or lounging at the beach. The 2016 Pool Party is simply a renaming of the annual Beach House Edition but still has the bright disco fun you normally expect from the series.

Things kick-off with a sunny bootleg remix of the 80's Tears for Fears classic Everybody Wants to Rule the World, which should immediately put a smile on your face. If it doesn't, then there is something seriously wrong with your mindset.

From there, Soul singer Leroy Burgess re-works one of his classics tunes Barely Breaking Even with Sweden's OPOLOPO delivering a satisfying 80's R&B dance remix that keeps up that fuzzy feelgood feeling. If you haven't picked up on it yet, there are a lot of classics re-worked for this set.

CeCe Peniston's early 90's house smash Finally get's the treatment along with Nightcrawlers Push the Feeling On and a personal favorite from 1989, Good Life by Inner City (a song I hold near and dear to my heart).

Bob Marley has been popping up everywhere lately and this time it's a dance floor remix of Could Be Loved. I'm thinking his music has either entered into the public domain or his family has opened up his catalog for sampling and outright remakes. As a Marley fan, I couldn't be happier.

We delve into a bit of deeper house music for a bit with Miss Barbra Tucker finally declaring "I don't know what you came here to do." Two snaps for the queen of house because she just did it.

Nora En Pure delivers a classic beach house anthem that will soothe your mind, body, and soul and New Order has teamed with Claptone for a sweet house version of People on the High Line.

We get back into the classic re-works with Cyrstal Waters' Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless) another song near and dear to my heart followed by an unexpected re-work of the late 70's rock anthem Black Betty that works so well as a house-floor shaker, it makes you wonder why no one had the balls to pull this off ages ago.

Finally, I close things out with a near faithful re-work of the late 70's disco classic Boogie Oogie Oogie by Taste of Honey, which may leave you wanting more. Never fear, I'm working on some new Trash Disco sets for next week.

With yesterday's tragedy in France, I've decided to stay off of my soapbox since this insanity is becoming an all too common occurrence. Instead, I've decided to change my icon to show support and unity with the French people in their time of grief.

Anything I have to say about the state of the human race and politics will be reserved for later in the fall once the US elections begin heating up. For now, I'm pretty certain folks know what I think about the willful ignorance and outright stupidity of the far-right's leadership and nominee for president.

That's all I got for now. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and as always ...ENJOY!
