I spent most of the day yesterday slowly working on pulling this set together — that is when I wasn't going down the Twitter rabbit hole.

I have to say, it was difficult enough dealing with what amounts to radio edits for many of the official full-length mixes but there's a new twist in town. Certain DJ's who will go unnamed have been cutting off the outro of their mixes. At first, I thought they were pulling the tracks from sets but the more I started to see it — the more I realized this was intentional. There's no breakdown just a slow repetitive plodding that never reaches a conclusion then all of a sudden just cuts off.

I don't know if this some DJ's thinking they are so beyond creating these mixes or they want to challenge others to come up with creative ways of mixing in and out of the tracks. I don't use fancy mixing software that has a slew of effects for transitions and frankly — other than in a club (where most folks don't notice), I'm not a big fan of getting all cutesy with transitions unless absolutely necessary. Otherwise, they're just annoying and don't really display any skill on the part of the DJ. I liken it to a whole new generation of folks with short attention spans — but I'll digress.

I combed through the finished product an hour ago then mastered and encoded it. The end result is some of the finest dance-club tracks already in your clubs and a whole bunch more that will soon be.

You'll also notice a bevy of classic tracks reworked for a new audience but with either different singers or the originals reprising their roles. No need to list the names as they will be very familiar to you just by reading the track list.

Summer Leap is exactly what it implies. It's all the hottest dance-club hits that will take us well into summer.

We're in that stage where we go from cooler temps to summer-like temps to heavy rain and tornadoes, then cooler temps then back to warmer temps all in a span of a month. This will continue through May before Summer finally gives in and things really start heating up.

Of course, that doesn't stop Party Favorz from enacting our own brand of global warming before the actual season fully kicks in. If it's still snowing, or cold and rainy where you're at — just know that summer is right around the corner and this set will put you in a better frame of mind. Until the next time...ENJOY!
