Are you ready to get your disco on?  I said, are you ready to get your DISCO ON???  Because if not, then this mix isn't for you.  Just in time for your Memorial Day weekend mischief,  I'm delivering two heaping servings of some of the freshest, phattest and funkiest slices of heaven this side of the galaxy or more like intergalactic space funk that's so fierce, even your mom will have to wiggle it, just a little bit!  Starting things off, Joe T. Vannelli delivers an updated version of the classic "Doctor Love" originally performed by First Choice.  For all purposes, this version is titled "Doctor House" and definitely sets the mood for the rest of the mix.  This, of course, is followed by Lonnie Gordon's 1991 classic "I'm Gonna Catch You" and with 7th Heaven at the helm, you can't go wrong.  We also have Ricki Lee's latest "Wiggle It" which basically turns the table on the 90's house classic originally performed by 2 in a Room.  Other notable ditties worth mentioning are Lenny B's latest "Turn Up the Radio" which is a discofied version of the Sylvane mix, which recently appeared on my latest BPM edition and Sabrina Johnston taking an old church hymn "Peace in the Valley" and turning it into a disco floor stomper.  Two other songs you should keep an eye on, only because you'll be hearing them a lot this summer are Kurd Maverick and Sam Obernik's "Love Emergency" and the Pussycat Dolls "Hush Hush".  With the chorus "If you should fall, fall for me.Stick around I'm what you need.I'm not asking for eternity. It's just a little love emergency" "Love Emergency" is a surefire winner!  Woo daddy.it's getting HOT in h-e-r-e!  I guarantee you, the boys will be clamoring for this one.  Now you may be asking yourselves.Pussycat Dolls?  Followed by your second question, Dave Aude?  I can hear it now . . . WTF???  Let me tell ya, the Dolls and Dave combo is a winner!  I think this is the first time Dave has shown us his funkier side and the Dolls really deliver the goods.  "Hush Hush" is a song about the dissolution of a relationship where the protagonist finally declares about 2/3 of the way in that she's broken.then the song just drops and those oh so familiar words are uttered."At first, I was afraid, I was petrified."  Now, if you don't know those lyrics by now, we may have to strip you of your gay card and send you back to gay 101 for a refresher.  Yes, they manage to work in the classic Gloria Gaynor disco anthem "I Will Survive" and never once does it sound cheesy.  Folks, this is gonna be big, mark-my-word.

There are four volumes to this set, which will be released each day until Friday.  I broke it up between funky and soulful.  I wanted to get the funky mixes out first for those of you taking an extended holiday so you had your soundtrack ready to go by the time you're out the door on Friday.  The soulful mixes will come out Thursday and Friday, just in time for any weekend bar-b-cues or parties you may have planned.  I've finished all four mixes and have to say they are smokin'!  Then again, I'm partial to house in it's purest form and think everyone pretty much knows that by now.  Anywho, I've gotta get out and enjoy this fabulous fall weather we've been having!  You heard right, it's been pretty cool at night and in the mornings, but the sunshine and cool breeze during the day are alright with me.  I'll be back tomorrow with the next installment.  Until then, enjoy!
